Does eyelashes make you attractive?

Dark eyelashes can highlight these aspects of the eyes and make people appear more attractive. More than 130 university students were asked to rate the attractiveness of a series of faces. Studies have shown that large eyes are more desirable in women. Because long eyelashes accentuate your eyes making them look bigger, which is a symbol of youth that is often associated with greater attractiveness.

Which leads us to say that long eyelashes are more attractive to both girls and boys. A woman's blink: Did you know that a woman's blink is much slower and more agitated than a man's? Like the studies on hair movements that are part of the ritual of attraction between the sexes, so is blinking. Longer, darker eyelashes mean that more attention is paid to this gesture and to you. Since ancient times, people have practiced practices to improve eyelashes as a way to modify their attractiveness.

While some researchers have suggested that eyelashes are perceived as more attractive the longer they are, long eyelashes can also indicate diseases, such as immunodeficiency. From an evolutionary perspective, the ideal eyelash length to indicate health and, therefore, attractiveness, should be between long and short. Excessive eyelash loss indicates an autoimmune disorder and such disorders have an extremely detrimental effect on fertility. Some scientists believe that if eyelashes have any real function, it is to diffuse airflow that could threaten to dry out the eyeball, and that their length is generally determined in relation to the size of the eyeball itself and not to the gender of the mammal to which they belong.

In other words, participants preferred slightly longer eyelashes in women and shorter in men, suggesting that gender norms played a role. Long eyelashes are also an indicator of health, an extremely important factor in terms of biological attraction. Look, scientists have also discovered that eyelashes, especially those that are dark (naturally or that are emphasized with mascara and that cool eyeliner trick) help highlight the whites of the eyes. And in more recent studies, people with long eyelashes are considered much more attractive to the opposite sex.

These were just a few of the reasons why long eyelashes make you look attractive and attract people's attention. Historically, eyelashes have also been associated with chastity, the ancient Roman naturalist Pliny the Elder suggested, quite amusingly in retrospect, that women's eyelashes could fall out if they had too much sex. Other scientists have found that particularly dark lashes, perhaps with eyelash enhancers such as mascara and eyeliner, help to emphasize the sclera (the whites of the eyes, whose brightness may indicate health and youth) and the limbal ring (the dark ring that surrounds the iris of the eye). An experiment published in Evolutionary Behavioral Sciences suggests that the most attractive eyelash length is approximately one-third of the width of the eye.
